To attract tourists from all over the world, Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation has come up with an ambitious plan, ‘Visit Nepal Tourism Year 2011’. Ministry is optimistic that this kind of events will increase tourist arrival and ultimately will create jobs and reduce poverty. In the budget government already committed fund to construct new international airport at Bara and upgrade few domestic airports. In addition, Ministry is searching for new trekking routes and looking to invest on infrastructure development. Previous such event was held back in 1998 as ‘Visit Nepal 1998’. The most anticipated and highly expected Tourism campaign of Nepal, Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) 2011 was officially launched on February 26, 2010. With an aim to attract one million tourists, tourism entrepreneurs are urging to celebrate this campaign as “Year of Celebration”.

Trekking in the Annapurna
Annapurna region is very popular with both young and old explorers.It is situated in Midwestern part of Nepal. Commencing your trek from Pokhara, a popular resort, which has an elevation of around 800 m. Gradually the trail heads towards north where the huge magnificent Annapurnas rise high above the clouds. The trek last about eight days with a combination of nice gradual ascends to strenuous uphill battle, passing through different ethnic tribes, vegetation and landscapes. The highlight is getting up at Pun Hill for sunrise and grasping one of the most breathtaking views, which ill remain inside you for many years to come You can capture 30 different high peaks in 360 ° panorama frame with two of the nine highest mountains in the world, Mt. Daulagiri – 8163m and Annapurna I 8091 m and the deepest gorge in the world.

Chitwan Jungle Safari
The Royal Chitwan National Park, established in 1973, is one of the richest and most spectacular wildlife sanctuaries, situated 75 air
miles south west of Kathmandu in tall grass land and magnificent forests. In this panorama jungle setting inside the 960 square km park is found one of the greatest wildlife in South East Asia. One horned Rhinos, several species of deer, sloth deer, wild boar, fresh water dolphins, bison, marsh muggers, leopard and crocodiles, over 450 species of birds, 67 different kinds of butterflies and the elusive nocturnal Royal Bengal Tiger. Nowadays the National Park can be easily visited on all levels of budget. A typical day inside the park includes early morning jungle walks, elephant rides, dugout canoe rides, jungle drives, sunset walks, elephant bathing and many others. The evening can be spent visiting a Tharu village, where you get a rare opportunity to witness a traditional Tharu dance. A fifth of the park is made up of the floodplains of the Narayani, Rapti and the Reu Rivers and is covered by dense tall Elephant grass interspersed with forests of silk cotton (Kapok), Acacia and Sisam trees.
